EWS
(UK) Ltd are the sole UK and Ireland agent
for a German vacuum evaporator company.
The range of evaporators available goes
as low as 30 l/hr for a standard built unit
and in excess of 500 l/hr for bespoke plant.
Materials of construction vary dependent
upon the liquid being handled and level
of concentration.
Vacuum
evaporation results in a concentrate stream
and a condensate stream. Where employed for
reducing volume of effluent resulting from
regeneration of a demineraliser for example,
the condensate is typically of sufficiently
high quality to allow it to be fed directly
back to the demineraliser to make up for regenerant
losses. As the boiling vessel is operated
under vacuum this also negates the need for
a separate feed pump where the evaporator
is installed close to the feed liquor storage
tank.
With
increased off-site disposal costs and environmental
legislation driving companies to consider
resource recovery, evaporation is being increasingly
considered by companies looking to reduce
costs and achieve environmental targets.
